FAQ

What is a Notary Public anyway?

A Notary is an official approved by the government to witness the signing of documents, administer oaths, and several other duties. A notary is usually hired in cases where a document is important, and fraud is an issue. Notaries, however, do not provide legal advice.

What should I bring with me when we meet?

All you need to bring with you is a current form of government-issued identification—passport, driver's license, and so on.

What type of ID is Acceptable?

Any one of the following Valid Identifications (providing they are current) is acceptable:

  • California Driver’s License

  • California Identification Card

  • Two credible witnesses (for a person who does not have a current ID)

  • Mexico Driver’s license

  • US Passport

  • US Military ID Card

  • Inmate ID Card

  • Other State Driver’s License

  • Other State Identification card

  • Canada Driver’s License

  • Foreign Passports stamped by USCIS.

What is a Loan Signing Agent?

A Loan Signing Agent is a notary specifically experienced and trained to handle loan documentation. I am a Loan Signing Agent with a great deal of experience in the field.

Why would I need a Loan Signing Agent?

Loan documents are complicated documents, and they are often rejected if they are signed incorrectly. There is little-to-no room for error when filling out and submitting loan documents. If a set of documents is rejected because of an incorrect signature or missing initials, then your loan may take additional time for approval. In the time it takes to print up a new set of documents and sign them, the interest on your loan is accruing. This is both a waste of time and money.

Are you background screened? Are you bonded?

YES. AND YES. All notaries in California are required to submit to a background screening administered by the Department of Justice and the FBI. A bond is also required.
